Steering Problems
On my way home i heard a POP and all of a sudden I had no steering.
Not sure how easy of a fix this is or what caused this to happen. PLEASE HELP!!! |

Fairly easy fix. Buy a new pitman arm and replace that one. Check the rest of the steering parts for excessive wear

hows that even possible. There should have been a castle nut with a cotter pin on there. You should check the rest of your suspension. All your balljoints, tierods, spindles and anything that attaches to the drag link should have a castle nut and cotter pin.
I'm sure you had a severe case of monkey butt when that happened. lol, lucky you didnt wreck and kill yourself or somebody else. |

And no thank God I wasnt on the road I heard a pop about a mile before i got home and pulled over into a parking complex when i pulled out one tire went one way the other stayed straight.

personally I would replace the pitman. Go to autozone or whereever and borrow a pitman puller.
then again unless you are changing everything does it really matter? you could just get the nut and cotter pin. the arm itself doesnt look broken to me. and then on the other hand, pitman is cheap and the puller rental should be free. lol not very helpful huh... |

PA nut should be torqued to spec.
66 PA nut isn't castle (no cotter pin). |

Yeah I checked with advanced auto parts and the the only way to get a pin and bolt is to order a new pitman. So im going to get that and just use the pin and bolt from the new one to put it on ( I figure 20 bucks is going to be an inferior pitman arm and hopefully the bolt is better quality then the one i dont have lol) I have a buddy who can see if the pitman arm needs to be replaced as well. I live in an apartment complex that frowns upon working on cars

yea mine as well. it sucks but it would look like a dump if they allowed it. I do all my work at my office in the parking lot lol

I would understand dropping a new motor in or somethin but to even change a flat they would rather you tow it out of the complex to get it fixed...
