1960 GMC Hood Light Housing
Does anyone have a part number for the bulb housing for them? I need to wire in a set for the new harness and I thought I'd try here first.
ANOTHER QUESTION I have is the truck has a turn single setup (cam canceler is broken) however the signals will work. I was speaking to another enthusiest and he told me that I will need to put in dual pin sockets IF i want the light to blink. On the '60 model year IF someone ordered the turn signals, would the hood lights blink? or just the rear ones?

Re: 1960 GMC Hood Light Housing
The only thing I can offer is that on the 1960 GMC, turn signals were optional, and were listed as two separate line items. The original buyer of my truck purchased both as shown (the 2 lines above the arrow) on the original invoice:
It seems inconceivable they would have been sold this way as late as 1960, considering turn signals in cars had pretty much been standard equipment since about 1953. Your friend is correct about needing dual filament (1157) bulbs. The low power filament serves as the parking light and the bright filament is the turn signal.

Re: 1960 GMC Hood Light Housing
I don't have the part number, but I recall replacing one side with a unit I got from Autozone.
Here is a photo from a ebay listing showing the housings on top right. http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-61-CHEVRO...2840b6&vxp=mtr I'd like to know the answer to the second question as well.

Oops, just re-read the second question. My 61 came with the turn signals and both front and back flash.

Re: 1960 GMC Hood Light Housing
I would recommend going with a harness designed for a 1960-61 hood. I don’t remember where I bought mine, and I thought it was for a 1960 – but the wires turned out to be too short and I had to splice new lengths in to get it to work. I’m not sure anyone sells the sockets by themselves. The only unique feature I’m aware of is they have a straight bar molded in on one side that aligns with a slot in the lamp housing.
Here’s the Chevy Duty version: http://www.classicparts.com/1960-61-...ctinfo/52-511/

Re: 1960 GMC Hood Light Housing
Thanks Mark, I'll get that setup and splice into the new harness.
