65 GMC rear spring shackles

Has anyone been able to find rear leaf spring shackles for a GMC (2wd)?

I really just want stock replacements because the truck is low enough already (I put the axle on top of the springs).

there are some manufacturers that have some 4wd stuff and I found some F--d stuff that was close, but no direct replacement for a 65 GMC.

I bought some Western Chassis lowering ones for a 67-72 that I thought I could make work....not even close. The spring width on the 65 is 2.25"

any thoughts?

sometimes you just have to look or think a little deeper. the 4 x 4 rears are more than likely the same as for 2 wheel drive.

Re: 65 GMC rear spring shackles

I did not ask the question because I had nothing better to do and had not done the research 1st. The 4wd models may have the same spring width but the rear hanger is totally different and they use srew in greaseable pins..... I do not want to run that on my truck, even if it did fit I would have to change the spring bushings as well. Just need an oem style 2wd rear shackle...forget it

Re: 65 GMC rear spring shackles

Just wanted to post an update on this in case anyone else runs into it down the road...

I ended up using the Early Classic shackles..modified them a little so the drop is not as much.

also Moog part # SB253 is the correct part for the leaf spring bushings on these

thanks
