Narrowed control arms

Do I want narrowed control arms for my 1957 IFS? It only narrows it 5/8" on either side.

Re: Narrowed control arms

The real question is do you need narrowed control arms. I'd think probably not on a 57 unless you are running super wide rims and tires.

Of course we still have to ask exactly what front suspension you plan on running in the truck. That should have been the first information you presented so that the folks would have a clearer idea of what the question is all about.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

I'm with Mr48 on this one. .625 isn't much for money that could be better spent elswaer on the truck.

Re: Narrowed control arms

I'm going to go with a Heidt's Mustang II cross member with airbags. I keep seeing the narrowed control arm option.

Re: Narrowed control arms

Since you're buying control arms anyway, the cost is nothing. If you like deep dish wheels the 5/8 gives you that much more. We did a 58 with the M-2 standard arms and a 7 inch rally fits good, but it has a more standard ride ht. With the bags, the shorter arms might let you go lower without interference and still use a deeper wheel.
