New truck have some questions
Bought a 2013 silverado, new in April. Never had a new truck before.
5.3L/ 4x4/ extended cab/ Z71/ 6 speed Whats the deal with the motor shutting down to 4 cylinders. I really cant stand it. Is it normal when you are traveling on the highway you feel the swith from 4 to 8? There is a little bump. I also seem to feel the truck shift alot. Is this just the 6 speed? Last question what oil are people using ? I usually get mobil one but I am not sure if this one still uses 5W30. Thanks.

Re: New truck have some questions
The 5.3 has the displacement on demand setup and the shifting to a 4 cylinder mode is common. I had mine turned off when I did the tune to the engine. It did affect the gas mileage a little, but for the most part, I do not miss it.
I also tuned the shift points on my truck to get them tighter and they seem to shift more like I think they should, now.
