Factory grey to black grille insert
I liked the original grey grille but couldn't resist changing it up! Tell me what you think

Re: Factory grey to black grille insert
I think it looks good on a 71/72 to have the black. On 69/70's, I prefer a factory look, but that's because painting it factory gives it so much depth and contrast. It's a different deal on the 71/72. Looks great. I'd put the emblem on the front though, and maybe paint it blue

I like the black, it gives it that SS look! Did you use flat or semi-gloss?

Re: Factory grey to black grille insert
For me it is a matter of the color of the truck and what trim the truck has. I like black grills on a solid color truck (no two tones) and no side trim. Even single color trucks should be a lighter color light white or ochre or light olive for a black grill to look good in my opinion.
Dark color trucks with two tone (white) and trim packages should have the factory silver colored grill insert. Of course the golden rule of owning the truck is you can do what ever you like no matter what |
