4.3l questions
I'm back... I found and I am going to look at an 08 LS 4.3 2wd rcsb 4speed automatic with 29k miles on it and would like to know if there is anything in particular I should look for or be aware of during the test drive tomorrow? Other than it being a V6? I am looking for a truck that gets somewhat decent mileage but yet still able to haul trash to the dump od do landscaping stuff around the house.
btw my current truck is an 88 sierra slx with 175xxx miles on it and I am tired of throwing money at it to keep it running. any advice will be greatly appreciated. |

Re: 4.3l questions
Just traded a 2009 4.3. Don`t buy it for the gas mileage it isn`t that good, high 16`s is the best I ever saw.

Re: 4.3l questions
wow 16 mpg I would kill for that, best I ever got out of my POS has been 12. And I am not worried about resale value since a truck to me is a spare vehicle if the wifes car or mine are down for repairs. so I guess it is more for longevity than resale value. any other advice would be great.

Re: 4.3l questions
well we test drove the truck. my first impression was its a nice looking truck dark metallic blue, straight clean. then I opened up the door.... WHOA!!!!!! boy does it stink like a wet filthy dirty old ashtray. oh boy that was unbearable. all the functions in the truck worked fine. now the V6 was very underpowered and gutless.

Re: 4.3l questions
I have an 08 GMC rclwb with the 4.3 has 247K miles still original engine . Put 2nd transmission in at 186K and on highway it still gives me 22. Around town it only gives 16-18 at best. Still drive it every day and would not hesitate to drive 6 hours away
