Found Rust :(

So got the flooring crap pulled out and I got rust in the floor, it's not eaten through or real weak but its further than surface.. So any ideas on what my options are here before I order my stuff to redo the carpet and such.. Heres where I am at now...

that doesnt look too bad to me. Id wire wheel it and use some por15

Ye it hasnt got to where its real soft or pushing through but I wasnt sure if sanding it down as good as I can would be good enough or if there was something else I needed to do, this is more or less my first time doing this kind of stuff. Got a little experience in a few things but not necessarily done them in a car so its all a learning experience for me..

^^^this is what you should do to make your truck WAY quieter inside. I will be doing the same in mine.

Thanks diesel, did look just like mine.. So looks like that will be the route I will go.. As far as noise mine isnt too terribly bad, but it also had the original floor stuck rusted into the floor which felt wet i guess just soaked in, then some pink matting on top of that then the vinyl covering. Now its just down to metal. lol

If you buy the entire kit. Por 15 comes with a metal cleaner and a treatment. You don't need to mm use anything else.

rust inhibitor. i would also crawl underneath and coat that as well. because if you just coat the top its not going to protect it from the enviroment underneath.

so true! when i had my cab off, i stripped the bottom & put 2 coats por 15 & 2 coats chassis black on it. keeping my cab rust-free for a long time
IronAnRkst, floors looking good. a little bit of mig work, or some epoxy putty & your good to go.
