Power Steering Hose?
Hello all, I am finishing up my '71 GMC project and am ready to drive it. Looking for a pressure side power steering hose. The box is an original '71 and the pump is a '95 era serpentine system pump. Is there a bolt on hose out there or does it have to be custom?
Thanks in advance everyone! Jeff

Re: Power Steering Hose?
It has to be custom made. I swapped in a motor from an 87 camaro in my truck and ordered the hose that fit the pump but the threads are metric. I took it to the hose shop and he cut off the end that goes to the pump and crimped on a new one. It took him about 5 minutes and only charged us for the parts

Re: Power Steering Hose?
All you need to do is use the pump fitting form a 71-72 era pump, it will swap right out with the 95 era pump fitting. Then use your 71 era hose.

What Lee said...
I know my local parts store that I use and the local NAPA, both make hydraulic hoses for pretty much any application you can fathom as well. And they are priced pretty cheap. Gary
