Help!

My truck just stopped running I had changed the fuel pump and ran it a good mile than it just turned off on me...after it turned off it would turn on but as soon as I give it gas it would turns off again I've changed every line and the filter and I don't think it's my pump because we did get it running by putting the line that runs to the gas tank directly into a can of gas instead of to the tank

Just a shot in the dark but pull your gas cap off and see if the symptoms go away. If they do the the tank vent is plugged up.

Also, if its an old tank and had some gunk in there or the lines....a spanky new pump mighta sucked junk up in and the lines are now restricted....if the cap vent don't work,

Try disconnectin between pump and tank and carefully blowing out the line...if that don't work, pull the sender and check its hard line and the sock for junk too.

Did you check the in tank pickup filter sock? That sounds like the problem. Been there and done that; you won't believe how plugged up one can get and still kinda work.

I went all the way to the tank and pulled out that hose that goes into it and used a compressor to shoot air threw it shot out a bunch of rust and gunk starts right up and runs again! Thanks for the input!!

MAKE sure you put an inline filter between the tank and the pump or you will suck all that s@#t in your pump.... if you blew air in the tank ( A ) i hope the cap was off (B) you blew the (sock) off of the dip tube or at least blew it apart so you need a pre pump filter
