Rear facing seats
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has ever installed the second row seat backwards on a suburban. It looks like it wouldn't be too hard to do and I think it would give passengers more room. It would also make it easier to get to the back row without having to squeeze by the 2nd row. Any opinions?

I have done it, but always go back to all forward facing.
For me it was only done for fun, or to sit looking back in the comfort of the back of the burb while watching a show.

as a passenger // riding backwards for a long trip sucks and alot of people get car sick sitten that way too/// if u dont mind cleanin puke up it's up to you

While it is true that some people get sick, a lot of people will get use to it. I rode in the back of ambulances for many a years. Besides, kids love it!

I have four boys and they were all excited when I flipped the 2nd row to see how it would fit. What would be the easiest way to bolt it down since the original holes won't match?

Sounds like a cool idea. We had station wagons when we were kids that had those rear facing seats. Never got sick but it did feel kinda weird when we got out and walked around after a longish ride back there.

As far as mounting goes, I just flipped the seat around, drilled the holes, screwed a large price of thicker sheetmetal to the wood underneath, then marked and drilled out the metal from through previously drilled holes in wood from above. Then used grade 8 bolts with large oval washers and nuts with nylon so they wouldn't come unscrewed. It was pretty easy to be honest. Here are a couple of crummy pics with bad shadows. Sorry. I'll try and get some better photos later.
