need advise on 64 c20 Long stepper
Have an opportunity to purchase slash trade (.30-30 marlin) for a 64 c20 long bed step side. Nothing special, looks like it may have once been a DOT or fire truck. Runs with a 350 and a four speed manual. Going to need new front fenders or repair, Hole near door in floor on drivers side, rockers on both sides and at least one cab corner. Box looks decent with a few dings and hood needs a crack fixed. That's the problems I can see in pics, don't know about under cab and all. In your opinion is the trade worth it? Body is straight. I can weld and all and already have a 72 GMC c15, 71 chevy c10, 67 impala SS, and a 88 one tone 3+3. All need major work except my 88. Am I spreading myself thin with projects? Have the 72 apart now. What would you do?
Brent

Re: need advise on 64 c20 Long stepper
If I had to choose between fixing up the truck you just described or a '67 Implala SS...you know, like all things being equal, I'd have to put my energy into the Impala. Don't get me wrong I love trucks, but when I read you had one of those cars in your stable, I knew what I'd do. But hey, that's just me.

Of coarse if the c20 is in running condition, you've got a perfect shop truck to help find parts for the others.

Re: need advise on 64 c20 Long stepper
all valid points! Would like to do the 67 SS but figured I would start out on the 72 GMC as its in the bet shape rust wise and get better at my body work before I tackle the 67 rust bucket. Got it from my brother inlaw and the pore girl was bondode a lot in the 80s and turned a lot of the car into rust. Wouldn't attempt to fix her if it weren't somewhat of a family gift car and if it weren't an SS. I will try and pic up the 64 this week or weekend some time. Its about 150 miles through oil field infested roads so that will be awesome!
