Greetings all...
Long time lurker, first time poster. I finally have a '64 SWB on the way this morning from IA. I've been trying to get this truck from my Dad for years but he has always replied with something about "...my cold dead hands".
The specs are on the truck are this: 1964 SWB that was originally a Public Works city truck. It was donated to a local high school shop class for a project. They added a '76 Camaro stub frame on the front, swapped in the Camaro rear axle and the 350 engine and tranny with a Hurst T-shift. It has been sitting for 10 years under a shade tree at the farm. Not quit "barn fresh" but for sure "shade tree" dirty. I'm as giddy as a school girl today. Can't wait to get off work and see it up close. Dad says every time they have stopped for gas someone has tried to buy it!!! I'm ready with my checkbook for a counter offer if need be. I'll keep you guys posted today on the arrival. So glad to be part of the forum officially. Picture is the truck just before they loaded it on the flatbed this morning!!

Re: Greetings all...
Welcome and what a great history to have with the truck. Even nicer that even after being parked that long he can still drive a few states away to you. Very cool. Looking forward to more pics and following the build. Congrats on the "tree find".

Re: Greetings all...
Thanks for all the kinds words. I'm going to work on the three S's first (Start, Stop and Steer).
Mom says they're making slow time because Dad needs to explain the story of the truck and why its going to South Dakota... But it's still on the trailer...thats a good thing.

Re: Greetings all...
welcome and I sure like those stories of "dad's truck or Grandfather's truck", keep it in the family.
Looks like you have a great candidate, what are your plans after SSS?
