Question Catch can plumbing??

I'm trying to figure out the correct way to plumb a catch can for my LS3 with TVS1900 Magnacharger. Diagrams or pictures would be great! Thanks in advance.

Are you talking the breather vent for the front gearcase of the blower? or the radiator overflow or some kind of crankcase breather / vent ??? Sorry don't know the system at all, but I'm sure someone here will have some ideas but just need to know what were talking about.

I guess I was kinda vague... I'm talking about an oil catch can that works with the PCV system. I've been told it was a must with LS motors to help keep the throttle body clean.

I would guess you could use a vented catch can like we do with vacuum pumps. Its easy to build one out of an old rad catch can. Just put a filter on top so it can breath.

X2...this is what I normally use for a breather tank on vacuum pump applications...relatively easy to find and around $100 (the poly tanks are around $40).

Yep, with -10AN bungs on the valve covers.

Seems complicated. I just vented my valve covers. Every so often, I empty the can. It's not like I get a lot of oil. Also, I was told not to hook up to my charger, as it will suck all the oil right out.

Interesting. Magnacharger told me some oil is good for the supercharger.

Yes but oil is sucked up through the pcv and into your intake. Some more than others, but the catch can set up only allows your carb or manifold vacuum to get clean air while collecting the oil picked up in a... Catch can.

Disregard my last post. I didnt read the link you posted becuase my computer locked up lol. Since I use a vacumn pump the plumbing is a little different but I think your idea would work. My concerns would be how many inches that setup will pull. I would test it to find out. I run a pop off valve in one valve cover to keep vacumn at 10 inches. You dont want anymore than that.

I'm sorry, I hope my response didn't come off as rude. To be honest I was defending you thinking someone else was questioning the idea. I skim through these and get excited when there's one I feel I can answer.lol . If you have both covers going to the can, and then can to vacuum source you should be good. I would put the pcv valve on both (or one with pcv,one with filter) covers tho because the plug in the valve will herp with not sucking up too much oil. Altho they still stuck up oil. Usually cause with performance set ups, having bigger rockers and guirdles, baffles under the covers are removed to make room and gives the oil a more direct shot through the pcv. I'm not real familiar with supercharged late model set ups, so perhaps I'm not the guy to answer. But that was my understanding for the reasoning for them on the gen1. It any block that sucking in oil and having a strong vacuum signal.
You need the vacuum source tho.

Not sure how similar yours is to my setup on my 6.2L Escalade, but I do believe it just goes directly from the vac tube on the blower to the inlet tube on the drivers valve cover, and to the intake tube ahead of the throttle body to the tube on the passenger side, no catch can.

I'd have to look closer at it, I'm working away from home right now so don't have access.
