NOS means New Old Stock. Meaning a new never installed orignial factory part not a reproduction which is sometimes referred to as NORS.

New Old Stock.
Vehicle manufactures need to build and maintain parts for up to 10 years after the last manufactured year of that vehicle. These "NOS" parts were built in that era as stock original parts and sold over counter, thus they are much better quality and value than aftermarket replacement parts. OP: very nice sir.
