Hitch receiver for 66 c10
Hey looking to put a good heavy duty hitch receiver on my truck, anybody know if they will fit off of other year chevy trucks? Was hoping to grab one from a wrecker if possible. They seem a little harder to find for the 60-66 trucks, thanks.

Re: Hitch receiver for 66 c10
Sharps40-nice write up.
Anyone flip a hitch and run the stinger on a fold down license plate bracket so the stinger is above the bumper but below the bed for the hidden look? |

Re: Hitch receiver for 66 c10
Rich, close to what i'm after without having more invested in re-chroming the bumper after modifying it than I would have in the hitch. I think I will just fab one up. I'm wanting it to come out at frame height and above the drop in the bumper so no square hole like yours.

Re: Hitch receiver for 66 c10
Looking at the one Sharps40 posted (thanks for the post and discount code, ordered mine today) it should be pretty easy to modify to tuck up just where you want it. For 100$ you can"t go wrong.....

Stick that hitch up in there and try it upside down, maybe that'll put it somewhere near the center of the bumper....I don't know if you can get it up as high as between the bed and the bumper but, since its a multipiece hitch, maybe ya can finagle it for a behind the license plate kind of set up. I like mine where it is....thinking i'm gonna add a third brake light to it, since it might as well have a job to do when its not towin stuff or got a hitch haul hangin out of it. |

Re: Hitch receiver for 66 c10
You might try giving the folks at Early Classic Enterprises a call. 888-777-0395
Their hidden hitch is designed for the 67-72 C/10's, but having mounted a 67-72 bumper on my '66, I can't help but think that this would fit close to where you want it.
