Brake hose length.
When installing a lift would you want a brake hose that is not stretched if the axle is hanging by its own weight? I bought approximately 4" longer than stock but noticed the hoses don't reach the calipers with the truck frame sitting on jack stands and the axle hanging by the springs..should I have bought longer? I don't go offroading any more than dirt roads. Thanks!

Re: Brake hose length.
Sounds like you need longer ones. Running on dirt roads can involve crossing waterbars or ditches which might articulate the front axle enough to stretch the brake hoses if they're too short.

Re: Brake hose length.
brakes are one thing you don't want to short change. at full droop an inch or two of slack would be best. have you tried skyjacker brake lines? i have a set of 8" longer ones on mine. their stainless braiding (tuff & look good), DOT, & will improve the feel of your brakes

Re: Brake hose length.
Thanks guys. I'm changing out my old Rancho 4" lift for a new BDS 4" lift kit, the BDS seems to be taller, plus i also added Off Road Designs shackles with Greasable bolts that added an other 1/2". I was sure the length i bought would be long enough but nope! Unfortunately i already had installed the frame end and tossed the boxes, their long enough to work and quite a bit of slack when resting on the tires, i need to get the truck back on the road (at least drivable) so i'm gonna run them for now, brake fluid is cheap and i can change them out again later. I fully understand why they need to be longer.
