3+3 on a half ton frame?
Is it possible to fit a 3+3 on a half ton suburban frame without lengthen the frame? I'm goin to look at a crew tomorrow that the guys says is on a stock 1/2 ton frame.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
It appears a crew cab will fit on a burb frame, the bed is another story though.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
Yes, I've seen one in person. There is one running around the Poulsbo, WA area. Not my cup of tea, but it will work.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
I knew that the cab would. I've seen that black one before. The burb frame is the longest 1/2 frame correct? I'm really hoping it's a 3/4 cut down. In the pics I can see its 6 lug axles. The only thing I'm worried about is he said it's a half ton title. I'm goin to have to do my home work on this thing to get it street legal.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
it is a short bed. if you look at how far the frame hang's below the cab, it's a one ton frame. it still potential.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
just got back, says its an 82. didn't have title handy, but does have one. its 2-1/2t frames welded together. not the best but its not jam welded! short bed with only one dent. no power windows or locks. cab is solid as a rock and all doors are good except driver door. it was hammered in to be able to close it after a fender bender. fender was replaced. passenger fender was cut for tire clearance so its got to be replaced. top of the cab did have surface rust. 10'' suspension and 3'' body lift. 283 motor with headers and edelbrock carb. true duals. 3 speed manny trans and idk what t-case. couldn't read the tag.
the guy wants $2500 for it. what do yall think? I didn't get there till real late so no pics today.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
also the seats are like brand new. looks like they never been sat in. I forgot there was no headliner and the carpet needs to be trashed. the back half of the carpet looked new but the front looked like they poured bleach on it lol

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
looks like a $500 pos. from your description, it sounds like a $500 pos. you're in Texas, man. rust free cheap trucks grow on trees down there. find a stock truck that wasn't build from the left over parts of seven unfinished projects.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
4x4 is hard to come by. All the mud guys grab them and hack them up! I did find a 2wd the same price but it's still a long bed and of course 2wd.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
Honestly i would pass on it sounds like a monster can of worms to me.That much of a lift its had 44s or bigger on it and probably ran hard tell the engine blew.He had the 283 and use shoved it on it to sell it.I wouldn't pay more then 800 bucks for that truck just to cover all the what if's it has about it.If 4x4s are really hard to find why not buy a nice 2wd and swap it over to a 4x4?Or what about buying a old cucv m1008 truck ?

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
Well I talked to the 2wd guy and he's down to 1950. Power Window and lock. Looks like I'm goin that way barring I don't find a tone of rust on it. Thanks guys. I may throw out a stupid low number just to see what he says. Maybe bring both home lol.

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
Yeah it looked like they cut the front off one and the back off another and welded them together. Like I said the welded area was done right. Only the rear cab mount were welded every thing else lined up nice. Did find out this morning though the title that he has for it is for a 1/2t. Don't know that's goin to work with getting it registered!

Re: 3+3 on a half ton frame?
Vin didn't look like it was replaced. I'm sure the title goes with one of the cut up frames. I'm goin to go look at the 2wd next week.
