heater blower
My blower on my heater went out this morning. just quit, then came back on for a minute, then went off again. I checked the fuse, its ok. checked all connections, they are ok. I pulled off the wire that plugs into the blower motor, and checked it with a test light, didn't get any current. could it be the switch ? are they prone to go bad ? maybe a bad motor ? any ideas ? thanks.

Re: heater blower
Hook the blower up to the battery with a jumper wire. See if it turns on.
If its an ac truck could be a bad relay. (not sure if the non-ac has a relay) Be sure to check the resistor as well. The blower in mine is 39 years old. Still works fine. The relay has been replaced.

Re: heater blower
The top circle is the resister (one going into the HVAC box.) Bottom is the relay. Visual inspection normally works for the resistor.

Re: heater blower
If above checks don't work, you might have to remove the HVAC dash control and wiggle the harness connector to the control. My truck had a bad harness and was not making a good connection. A new AC Delco harness is still available if that is your problem.
