Loose Steering Column?
So I have an 89 Jimmy that had some loose steering. I wanted to fix it so I replaced all the tie rod ends and power steering gear. All the moving stuff in the front is new, so my question is: are there parts in the steering column that can wear out and cause slop? Or is it just normal with wide tires and a 4" lift to feel like you're sawing logs to keep it going straight. 32x11.50's btw.

Re: Loose Steering Column?
Loose steering linkage and big tires equals a truck (or jimmy) you can hold in the road. Most likely its not in the column, but could be steering box loose also. But before I spent $$$ on a rebuilt box, I would fix everything else and check the frame where the box mounts. With the bigger tires you should invest in a steering box brace kit like yesterday!

Re: Loose Steering Column?
you can get sidewall flex running 15 inch rims and 33s. but every 4x4 solid axle I have had had issues with the front spring mounts flexing.

Re: Loose Steering Column?
Might be a dumb question, but did you replace the Pitman and Idler arm?
