Do 6.2 diesels take a different fan shroud?
The one on my 85 K30 is busted and it looks completely different from any of my other trucks.

I think they have a bigger radiator so it wouldn't surprise me if the shroud is different, Not sure where you'd find a replacement.

Re: Do 6.2 diesels take a different fan shroud?
Mine are different between my 454 84 K30 and my Diesel 85 K30. Pics are not the greatest but they are different. The first is the big block truck and the rest are of the diesel. I am going to have to take some measurements. I might have an extra shroud to try. The one on the 6.2 is busted at the top from the fan blade and it is a little more flimsy than the other.

Get a long piece of wide aluminum flat bar to bend to the shape of the fan shroud. Then bolt it to the outside perimeter so that it covers the defective spot.

Re: Do 6.2 diesels take a different fan shroud?
Yeah the diesel's have a wider radiator, look at the top of the core support and you'll see the second set of bolt holes for the driver's side radiator hold-down bracket. The passenger side is static.
Someone IS parting out a super clean diesel truck in out classifieds right now...just saying, not me but I saw it.
