Starting Troubles
In my 84 Suburban, quite often I'll have to turn the key three or four times before the motor will turn over. When it doesn't start, it just clicks one time and then does nothing. I've checked all of the connections and they are good. I don't lose battery power at any time.
I'm assuming that this is probably my starter solenoid taking a dump on me, but I wanted to ask for other opinions before I buy one. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, Dave

If you checked all your cables to the starter and they are not loose or melted in any way then your solenoid is going out on you. If you have a electrical shop around your town you can have it tested to make sure but when my starter was going out it was cheaper to buy a new one with a lifetime warranty than have the test done so i just bought a new one and it solved my problems. Hope this helps.
