Is there an adapter, or some DIY to bolt the 2 11/16 Rochester's to the 2 15/16 Fenton intake?

Is it OK to just enlarge the holes on the carbs?

weld the bolt holes up and redrill,that's what i did when i changed from 2 rochester b's to carter Yf 944's
