Re: 77 gmc k3500 crew
thanks i got alot of pics but i used a old camera with the old 3.5 floppy disc and i cant get them to open for some reason.i got a few pics all mixed up i was gona do a build thread but i just got busy building it and it would be finished by now but i had a hard time geting up the money and the body work took forever my buddy started the body work but had family problems and i had to take it to a body shop that i didnt know because i couldnt get alot of them to even look at it most body shops dont even want to fool with these old trucks.here is a pic of the truck when i first got it . i had it shipped from ca to ga. it was in good shape to start with it had a good running 400 smallblock and turbo 400. then i found a rolled over 06 gmc 2500hd with the 6.0 and 4l80e with only 38k miles on it . thats where all this ideal of redoing this old 77 started.

That thing is gorgeous! Excellent job and build. So glad you left it a factory color scheme.

Re: 77 gmc k3500 crew
That looks awesome Johnny! I love it. Only thing I would have kept the yellow '77 trim stripe. My first truck was a '77 so I'm kind of fond of the yellow stripe! Good work! How's the old black truck doing?

Re: 77 gmc k3500 crew
thanks for the complement I was gona go with the yellow stripe but I had everybody say go with the black the yellow on the truck is real bright so I went with the black . I can always paint it yellow later . it has a 79 front grille and bezels I am fond of them over the 77 bezels . the old black truck is still kicking I just cant get rid of it. I built this truck cause I drove a 04 crewcab 2500hd for a while when I was working and I loved it but I thought I would build this truck and build it up with everything modern . I bought a 2006 gmc rollover with 37k miles with a 6.0 and 4l80e and put it in this 77 with a 205 tcase I got it fixed up like this and love it all I like is getting the dash gauges replaced with some new ones but this nos stuff is got high and it takes time to find a deal

Re: 77 gmc k3500 crew
was the 80e/205 adapter an oem piece or what did you use. I'm going the 6.0/80e/205 route also.

Re: 77 gmc k3500 crew
I used a oem turbo 400 203 adapter it has to be milled a little in the front of the adapter for the 205 case to bolt up .also if you use a 4l80e transmission out of a 2 wheel drive the rear output shaft has to be cut off about 2 inches so the 205 case will bolt up

Re: 77 gmc k3500 crew
What had to be milled exactly on the 400/203 spacer? Also what did you use for a computer to control the transmission? What harness shop did you use?
