Books on ls engine swap
Before i buy books on ls engine swaps, can anybody give me advise on any books that may have helped them on their swap? Also where is the best place to buy them? Thanks

i did not buy a book i wont waste the money on one if it where me theres plenty of free info on here and on www.ls1tech.com

Most books would only cover general topics, and usually its the model specific stuff that trips people up.
Things like the wiring, mounts, fuel systems etc are discussed at length here and on ls1tech as truckdude said. I have yet to here of a swap started here that has ended up in failure due to lack of help/info/resources. So far even the far-out and high-tech swaps have made good progress if not met success.

i have one called how to swap a ls into anything, its published by sa books it tells you how to modify the stock wiring harness , what exhaust manifolds and oil pans fit what and for the most part i didnt see where it wouldnt tell you what you needed to know, plus i dont like to take time out of doing something to go into the house and check the computer when i can have the book right there with me

Like someone said there is way more good info on this forum, but my truck isnt at my house so i needed something to take when i went to it to refresh my memory. The book your talking about looks like it will help. Thanks. Clint

I started with the "how to swap an LS motor into almost anything" but all of the information was already outdated, and all of the references for parts were the most expensive route you could take. I found LT1swap.com, and that was my main source for ANYTHING I needed to know as a first time LS swapper, and it runs great.
