Truck Of The Month Thread
Okay, why not get the ball rolling here...
Quote:
There's only a few questions left to iron out, IMO... 1. Is nominating your own truck okay? I personally think it's a bit of bad form, but if I'm wrong, go for it... 2. Do we want to make it '67-'72 only or can we do other generations as well? 3. This is for the board admins - is there any way to set up the poll so that only admins can see the results until they release them? 4. Do we want to cap the limit of nominations in a month, and do we want to restrict whether or not a truck can be nominated two or more months in a row? I really think we should get going on this...

Sounds good! I really like the Idea of a calendar!! That would be sweet.
1. I wouldnt think nominating your own truck shouldn't be done. Just bad taste but should it be against a set of rules? I dunno. 2. 67-72 only IMO 3. whatever the board admins can do. Maybe there are some other ideas out there as well on this 4. I dunno on this one. I would say just for insanity sake limit nominations per month and say if a truck wins a month then they cant win again until the next year comes around. Something like that. lata CHRIS

Sounds good to me also,I guess the body shop needs to step it up on the Harley truck so I can wrap up my part and get her ready for photos!

sounds great, calendaar would be awesome. members trucks only. 67-72 only, the other sections can have their own, like a 73-87 contest.

And what kind of a limit for nominations per month should we institute? I think this is also a good idea so that we're not voting on 30 trucks...five? ten?

I like it, 67-72 only, board members only. One idea pick one month and it could be for a project truck. That gives the members that has a truck thats in progress a chance.

about the voting. You dont get to see the amount of votes until you vote yourself. (At least that was what I remember from the polls i've voted on.) Anyway, I'd like to see member trucks. some proceeds of the calendar to go to the upkeep of the boards. As for being nominated for 2 months in a row. I think if someone get wins a month, they cant enter until the next year. ok that's my .02

I think this is a great idea. Why just 67-72 though? Shouldn't this include the whole board , not just one forum?

Also...if I remember, heh....I'll get the pricing on the calendars (that's one of the few things I don't remember off the top of my head) tomorrow at work. I'm pretty sure there's discounts for quantity, at least. Edit: To figure in shipping + money for the board, we're probably looking at roughly $25-$30 apiece on the calendars...roughly $5 to the board, $5 for shipping, and $15ish for the product itself.

Double-posting just to put this up...
I say, if nobody else has any objections or anything (bits like the calendar can be ironed out in a year when we get there, heh) then let's start the nomination. IMO, we shouldn't restrict the generations (I don't know for myself if the other boards would get enough traffic to do this on their own) and either way it's still going to be down to a vote as to whose truck gets picked. Since Josh already took care of Miss August, heh...the nominations are for Truck of the Month for September. (We'll wait at least a month for the project truck month, but I do like it...I forsee nsane68, Longhornmail, and Slammed67 in that one!) Right now I think a limit of seven trucks nominated would work, but we'll see how that goes... My nomination? Tracy Focht's gorgeous ride. I'd post a pic if search was enabled. Well guys? Let's hear it! Who's truck do you think deserves a truck-of-the-month?

I'd say start a nomiation thread instead of doing it in this one.
If we're doing it in this one, I nominate Mudder67's truck. |

I like the idea of a truck of the month calendar. To me it doesn't matter if its only 67-72 Chevy and GMC trucks, or any year, just as long as they don't start nominating F*rds.

I think it should be the whole board too. The first person that nominates something other than a Chevy or GMC gets tired and feathered.

I guess it will be 12 nominees if a calendar is in order!
