Powder Coat or New Chrome

Hi all,

Just wanting your opinion... should I powder coat my existing hooker performance headers or just purchase new chrome ones?

Re: Powder Coat or New Chrome

What does the rest of your engine bay look like? Lot's of chrome? If so, either re-chrome your current ones or go new. If not, I'd just have the current one's re-coated.

Re: Powder Coat or New Chrome

Hi Rampage,
I agree with CMFT asking - what does the rest of your engine bay look like?

You have a number of options,
1. ReChrome or buy New Chromed Headers.
2. Ceramic Powder Coat - Standard Powder Coat will not survive the temperatures that
the Headers will see. I believe that Ceramic Powder Coat will also add a little bit of
performance to the system by keeping the heat internal. You can also get the
powder in different colors.
3. Wrap the Exhaust Headers with Titanium Exhaust Wrap. As I understand it this wrap
does not need any futher prep other than securing the ends of the fabric.
