Early Classic Enterprises

Hello,

I own a 1966 GMC Suburban. We are putting a LS1 in it. I've been looking for a replacement gas tank and ran across Early Classic Enterprises gas tanks. Has anyone used there EFI gas tank on burb? I see were Boyd's Welding is has been used on a couple Burbs in the forum.

I ordered a gas tank for a 1990 suburban.It will allow you to put pump in the tank. The tank fit in there very nicely.

I guess you had to move some frame rails? Did the fill match up to the fill door ok?

The fill lined up fine. The only cross member I moved was the rear one. Its a 31 gallon tank so its worth the effort.

Did it require any changes to the interior floor?

Nope in fact there is 1 inch of insulation on the
Bottom of the floor and still no interference

I crawled under there today and I cannot see the old rivet holes. I remember that I put the tank in place and re-drilled the cross-member accordingly. It will also depend which tank you use. There are three that I know of...24,31 and 40 gallon.

ive seen the 31 and 40 not the 24, i think i would like the 31 dont have to fill it up so much but when you it ugly, thank mark

I had a tank like that in my 65 several years ago when my original sending unit for the original tank went out and weren't available. It was for a 73-81 Blazer I believe, 31 gallon. Only problem I had was no sending unit to work with the original guage. Since there are replacement senders for the original tank, I put my old tank back in. Off the subject a little. I noticed your pipes are out the back. Do you have any issues with fumes coming in the back doors?

The Steele Rubber weather seals must
Be working. The seals are a great fit,

Nope dropped spindles. 3inch drop coils in front, lowering blocks with 4 inch drop coils in rear. I added air shocks for help when loaded.

Nice setup. Definitely have to remember this if I ever go EFI.

if you can afford to go EFI you should. I love it, I had it done on 55 and the thing runs great. I would recommend Speartech for you wiring harness.
