Looking for help with brake sizes
Hey guys
I just picked up my first 1952 3/4 ton 3600 truck over the weekend and have the brakes pulled off to go through them. Can someone verify what my truck should have on it for wheel cylinders? The front shoes are 1-3/4x11 with 1-1/4 cylinders. The rears are 2x12 shoes with 1-1/4 cylinder on the right and an 1-3/8 on the left.. Now I know that's wrong. So, what should I have ? And where should it be on this rig? Thanks Last edited by d0zx; 02-24-2014 at 10:15 PM. |

Re: Looking for help with brake sizes
Hit the link in my signature it will land on a 56 model page. Scroll down to year index to get to your year. Look at the brake section, it should have the info you need to tell what should have come stock.

Re: Looking for help with brake sizes
The front is correct. The rear should be 1 3/8 on both sides.

Re: Looking for help with brake sizes
Thanks Guys!
Another question if I may, Can someone give me the correct part numbers for the front and rear wheel cylinders? Wagner or dorman or?? I am finding different pictures on various sites for the same part numbers and I'm not for sure if my numbers are correct anyway... Also, I found the correct front shoes but can't find a number for the rears. Is relining the rears the only option? |
