Cab mounts
1964 short stepper. How does one go about jacking up the side of the cab to change the mounts?
Thanks Larry |

Re: Cab mounts
Is the truck complete or just the cab?

Re: Cab mounts
Hi, I just did this on one side. What I did was I took off the cab bolts on the right and rear of the side you are replacing (They are usually really corroded and need replacement). I then jacked up the cab just an inch to relieve the pressure and used a jack stand to support the cab. No need to jack up any further. Good luck!

Re: Cab mounts
I just replaced the cab mounts on my '64 a few weeks ago. I just loosed the front and rear mounts a bit on one side, then used a floor jack to raise the front enough to slip the old mount out and the new one in. Then started the nut, but left it loose. Then raised the rear enought to slip the mount in and out. Lowered the rear and then tightened up both front and rear on that side. Then repeated it for the other side. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was!
