Red Bowtie for 1984 Single Headlight Grille

I have a 1984 Custom Deluxe that I was given by my grandpa a few months ago. At one point, the original bowtie fell off, and he painted the space red and glued a "Chevrolet" emblem in it's place.

I'd like to replace the bowtie, but I like the red look. Does anyone know of a good red replacement bowtie that would work for my grille (it's the single headlight grille)? I'd much prefer to get a metal bowtie like the 1967-68 one, as opposed to some cheap plastic thing.

The factory one is metal but painted gold in the centre.
Might not take much to paint one red.

Yeah, that's a good idea. What kind of paint would you recommend using?

If I had a choice, I'd prefer to use the style from the 67-68 grilles, with the bars inside the bowtie. Is there a bowtie from a Chevy car that would fit the very shallow bend on my '84 grille?

just auto paint rattle can works. ive body colored many 99-07 ones.

That grill looks pretty nice. Mine was cracked from it's life behind a motorhome. Put in a repro with a little custom touch.

I pulled this stunt with an extra Emblem I had on hand. BTW it had the lugs and those sheet metal nuts on it so thats how I installed it. Used standard automotive rattle can and did the front grill emblem same color. Not period correct for a 73' but still in the Chevy ball park.

Heres a shot of the front. The front is what came originally with the grill. It's like the thin sheet aluminum that's epoxy'd on. The tailgate one I just had for years. Guessing it was on my dad's old 70's something Bonanza and I've just kept it around.

Ideally what I'd like to do at some point is get one of these to fit my grille, but I have a feeling the angle is wrong.

Yea that would be cool but the angle on the thing would be a pain. Have to get creative to make it work but it could be done.

just make thing that goes on the back that fills to get it flat. could make it out of metal fiberglass wood pvc etc...
