I have never come across one of these before so anyone know what the deal is ?.... Is this a old conversion to power brakes done back in the day?

that was factory on 60-63? don't know when they went to the booster on the firewall. 66 for sure. somebody added an early setup? my 61 came with the same one as you posted. mine was added after the fact as my mounting brackets is home made.

Well I didn't think power brakes were avalible till 67....it's the only one like that I have seen, and I haven't even seen a picture of another one till you just posted it.

Well the way mine was mounted it looked very clean....like it was supposed to be there....So did there ever mount them on the inner fender instead of the firewall ?...I will have to look for the buildsheet now when i get a chance...

Yes they could come mounted on the inner fender. GMC had their versions as well.

Well i am sure glad that i didn't hack that truck up right now...it's got the 3 on the tree and dash over drive....extra fuel tank....big back window....custom... ..and now power brakes...I am glad i left it mostly original now....Thanks everyone this made my day

This power brake unit would have been installed at the dealer, so it would not be listed on the build sheet, rather on the Dealer Invoice.

Yea it's all good....I know that in canada if the vechile was built in canada chevrolet will reissue a build sheet for 25 dollars. I don't think thats avalible till much later on the vechiles in the states. Anyhow it's nice to see some that stuff still around and together....I will leave it that way

Actually my 41 1-1/2 ton had vacuum assisted brakes it was mounted down on inside of frame...
