My son....
My 3 year old son just told me he he put a paper towl down into my gas tank.. He said he put black tape and a paper towl on a stick to see what was in there... . This is what happens when daddy goes to work. What do you all think? Will it dissolve or do I need to take my gas tank out and try to dump it and get it out...

Re: My son....
You might find a matchbox car in there too...
You could pull the sending unit out and take a look from there. You may be able to fish it out from that hole.

Re: My son....
Thanks!! Should I drive it knowing that it's in there? I'm wondering if it will clog up and doesn't get gas to the engine...

Re: My son....
don't drive it or start it!!!!!!!!! pull the sending unit and see what you can. if you start it or run it you can have small bits of what ever in your fuel lines carb fuel pump --very costly!!!

Re: My son....
I had a 66 that had a new paint job. My son was about 5. He went into the garage and some how knocked a can of spray under coating on the floor. It sprayed all over the side of the truck. I never screamed at him because it was an accident.

Re: My son....
Pull the tank and dump the fuel in a 5 gallon bucket, and see if you can get that stuff out. The dump two cans of sea foam in along with a couple gallons of fresh gas and shake the tank real good so it'll clean it. After that, re-install with a locking gas cap. I'm sorry I have to admit this but...I blew up laughing when I read your story.

Re: My son....
Aww, aren't they precious ... I'd put some gas in a glass jar along with a paper towel and black tape and watch what is happening inside the tank. Some paper towels are like rags and others are like toilet paper. If you use the rag type, you might have luck snaring it with a hooked wire. ??
If the paper dissolves, I'd slap a cheap temporary inline filter on there before any muck gets in the carb, or you'll be pulling that too. Good luck and go easy on the little fella. |

Re: My son....
Now that is funny, cool he told you. Take the tank out or crap will make it's way to the carb eventually and then pulling the carb too.
