I just purchased this Blazer and think the rear looks like it rides a little low. It does have HD front suspension. Thinking about replacing rear springs and/or adding supplemental air-springs. Any thoughts??

I think it sits just right , Most Blazers have that stance from the factory and even after you lift them . I would leave it alone myself . Just my 02 cents. Jim , By the way that is a very nice Blazer you have

Thanks! The truck came with crappy-looking body color rally wheels and 12-year old dry cracked tires. I had the white steel wheels with fresh radials from a truck I recently sold. I love the vintage dog-dish caps! I also added my extreme-bend tow hooks. Runs great and the body/paint work is REALLY nice. I've owned many trucks but this is my first Blazer.

You could add a leaf to the rear springs to level it out, but when/if you take the top off it might have the opposite affect. Adding a leaf would likely stiffen the ride.

I bought an air spring system that will supplement the rear leaf springs. I hope to get it installed this weekend and I'll share my thoughts afterward.

Looks fantastic.

Helper bags should help, but honestly, for almost 45 year old springs, I would have just replaced the springs.

You'll have to play around with the pressures in the bags, most of the ones I've dealt with you only run single digit pressures when unloaded, otherwise the rear gets really stiff. That may or may not give you the height you want, but it may give you the adjustability you want between top on/off. I.E. 8lbs top on, 3lbs top off, 30lbs when hauling, etc.

I pulled my 1972 Truck Data Book out and after looking at the drawing showing the Blazer dimensions, the stance on my Blazer looks about right. Notice the rear tire is further up into the wheel well compared to the front. Dan

Well also keep in mind, the front fender opening is located noticeably higher on the body than the rear too, so there should be a larger fender gap up front than in the rear like you have.
