Question about auto shift linkage
Putting a 83 project back together and have a question about the auto linkage.
I noticed that the hole in the pivot ball (mounted on frame) where the shift linkage goes into it seems excessively large, compared to the linkage piece it holds. Am I missing a part or does the linkage just kinda flop around in the oversize hole? Any info is appreciated. Thanks Scott

Re: Question about auto shift linkage
There should be a nylon spherical spring loaded piece that fits into the frame bracket (like a ball and socket arrangement).
Sounds like you are missing this nylon piece. K

Re: Question about auto shift linkage
I have the spring but missing the nylon piece.
Thanks Keith. Now I have to hunt down the part or at least a part number.

Re: Question about auto shift linkage
You are welcome.
You might be able to make one if you can't find it. It is hemispherical to fit into the bracket, with the diameter of the rod through it. K
