Fenderwell headers

Does anyone know for sure if fender well headers for a tri 5 Chevy or maybe a nova can fit or be modified to fit a 66 Chevy 2 wheel drive? The truck doesn't have any inner fenderwells and has a tilt front end so it looks like there is plenty of room. The only issue may be the steering shaft. I was looking around the forums for an answer but haven't found a definite answer. Any leads would be appreciated thanks.

I am thinking the same thing. I plan to remove the fenderwells and install Porterbuilt hinges. The tri-5 look a little wide, but not sure of Nova. I had planned to purchase a set of Doug Headers D329R fenderwell headers for a Nova. They come in raw steel, so I would just just cut to make fit. They are $530 thru Speedway.

But I have not heard or even seen fenderwell headers on one of our trucks, so that is the one more reason to do it. Besides it would be so cool

I had tri-5 fenderwell headers on a '65 C10. It didn't have any inner fenders and had a tilt front end. They cleared everything but the steering shaft. I dimpled the one tube to make it work. I wouldn't suggest dimpling again, it was severe but I was in high school with limited skills and money. I think they were Hooker, but quite likely were a knock-off brand. I bought them used.

I have my feelers out there, and I've seen pics, just trying to find the guy that has done it and knows what works.
