My New 82 Short Box LS

I've been off this forum for awhile for good reason. I've been wanting a stock trimmed square for a couple years and seeing all the nice ones here tested my patience haha.

Finally yesterday I got almost what I was after. Picked up this 1982 C10 short box with an L33 swap (aluminum 5.3 LS). Runs solid, needs a few minor parts from LMC, but this one should be a lot of fun! Going to drive it and not worry about it. Very excited!

Re: My New 82 Short Box LS

Couple questions if anyone wants to direct me.

Need new rally rings. 2" or 3"? Anyone have photos of each?

Also want the tailgate filler panel but cant find it in the LMC catalogue. What do they call them?

Re: My New 82 Short Box LS

For trim rings, if those are 8" as they appear to be, use the 3". Either will work, the 2" just allows more wheel to show. The rings you are looking at are probably similar to the "Corvette" style rings, which I think look great on the truck ralleys.

Re: My New 82 Short Box LS

My uncle bought a Scottsdale brand new after he retired back in 1982 that looked exactly like yours. My uncle passed away in 1988, but my cousin still has the truck and rarely drives it. Good looking truck! GTT

Thanks that truck looks great! 3s sound good to me.
Found a tailgate band on ebay for $50. That seem OK? Odd no one makes them...

Interior photos. Needs a few minor pieces and Id like to put in a bench seat.

Nice truck! Also, you might find a decent looking used tailgate band on ebay. They pop up on there for sale every once in a while.

...and people say carbs don't look good on LS engines. Nice!! All it needs is a www.ramairbox.com to complete the engine bay!! If I ever blow my ZZ4, I'm going carb LS.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: My New 82 Short Box LS

Wow! Amazing Truck! Damn thing looks brand new and like as if it came with a LS from the factory! VERY NICE! And the stance too... Nailed it!

You have a few head turners, that's for sure!

On a side note...I think I'd keep those buckets if I was you!

Re: My New 82 Short Box LS

Thanks guys. I dont want the buckets cause I want this one as stock as possible (less the modern stance and motor). The buckets just dont do it for me in this truck.

Another photo
