Kick panel vent help needed
The passenger side kick panel vent on my '84 K10 (with a/c) decided it wanted to fail, and in the winter I get a SERIOUS cold air leak.
I don't have the shop manual for it and am having trouble figuring out what parts I will need to buy and how to put it back together. Does anybody have the service info and pix ?? Many thanks !!!

Re: Kick panel vent help needed
I remember when I removed the baffle thingy a long time ago, there was a coil spring inside of it that had fallen off from somewhere, I can't figure out where it went.

Re: Kick panel vent help needed
I think the LMC catalog has a good graphic on how it goes together. Also, I think there is at least one vacuum actuator involved, along with a link and maybe a tension spring.

Re: Kick panel vent help needed
I looked at LMC and their pic doesn't show the vacuum actuator thingy, or the spring. In fact, the pic really doesn't tell me much. That's why I am hoping to find somebody with the shop manual that shows/explains things.
I did learn on another site I was on that if the cup shaped baffle isn't there and screwed tight, the seal will leak. I removed that baffle a while back (and it grew legs and disappeared) but I do remember the spring falling out onto the floor. I had a bad cold air leak even before I removed that baffle.
