This is a special day for me. As we celebrate this day, 2 clauses in our 2 most important documents come to mind:
The Declaration of Independence, signed this day some 238 years ago:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

and the United States Constitution some 13 years later:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

So whether you are Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, etc., whether you are White, Black, Brown, Yellow, Red, Green with Purple Polkadots... This is what it means to be an American and why today is such a special day.

And to make this forum related, you see this individualism, this Americana in how we bring these trucks back to life, the freedom to chose what we want, the freedom of how we build, but with our own individualism...

The thing I love most about this country is something we don't think of much, but it's been RELIABLE going on 300 years now.

We b!tch and moan about each other constantly. White versus black, versus Hispanic, rich versus poor, democrat versus republican, you name it. You KNOW we do this incessantly.

BUT hurt us as a group? Taxation without representation? Sink the Maine? Pearl Harbor? 9/11? And we pull together like a mutha'. We set our differences aside and we WILL have a piece of whomever wronged us. That has been a truism about this country through the centuries and I hope always will be. Happy Independence Day you guys, every single one of you!
