Newbie intro
Been lurking for a bit. Thought it might be time to post an intro. I'll try and keep it short and sweet. I recently acquired a 66 GMC LWB in a trade. Alcohol was involved. As was one of my Harley's. I ended up extremely happy with the trade, as the Harley project was sitting stagnant. My buddy made out in the deal because the 66 had been sitting in his garage for 20 years. Now it's in my garage, getting reworked. I have already found a lot of useful info here and look forward to much more in the future. Little bit about the truck: 66 LWB, 292, only rust is on the front fenders, a small spot on the bottom of the driver side door, and surface rust throughout, two bullet holes in the back of the cab (from the inside out.) I love this truck!

Re: Newbie intro
Welcome from NC!! Nice truck you picked up and looking forward to more pics and progress of the build. Fleetside or stepside?
Nice that the rust is marginal, definitely helps a project get done quicker.

Re: Newbie intro
Thanks! It's a Fleetside. I definitely lucked out. I've spent the last few days in the cab scraping glue and carpet fuzz with a sharp putty knife, totally expecting to find a rusted hole. So far, just bare metal. Hit it lightly with the sander in a few spots last night and the little bit of surface rust disappeared. Going to try to have inside the cab stripped and primered by the end of the week.

Re: Newbie intro
Welcome to the forum
Minimal rust is a huge plus with one of these trucks. Are you staying with the 292?
