WTB: Tonneau cover snap type for LWB
Thought I'd try here first before purchasing new. I'm after a tonneau cover for the 8' LWB on my 72 GMC that installs with a frame and requires no drilling. Need this to protect the wood bed. Looking for a complete set-up. Thanks, Pete

Re: WTB: Tonneau cover snap type for LWB
if you don't find one used,Jim Carter in Independence,MO used to offer the frame-type in colors so you could get a white one. Hopefully still does,or maybe by now others do,too. I still have the Parchment made-to-fit tonneau cover from my old camper truck I installed for the same reason. It would be on my '72 K2500 except it has those cargo hooks in the way. That truck will look fantastic with a white cover

Pete, did you find a vendor that has these new? What was the price? I am interested if the price is fair. I have not found a local Michigan vendor that can help. I agree with Tim, your truck will look very nice with a white/parchment tonneau cover Good luck with your search, Tom

Re: WTB: Tonneau cover snap type for LWB
Thanks for the tip Tim - I'll follow-up on that. Agree, a white/parchment cover would look good on the green/white truck.
Tom - Extang makes a snap-type cover with a frame (no drilling) in the USA (Michigan in fact!), which costs ~$255 shipped ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/exg-2315 ). Model #2315 specify 6' vs. 8' bed.

Re: WTB: Tonneau cover snap type for LWB
To follow-up: Jim Carter no longer carries tonneau covers and Extang no longer offers colors other than black. Maybe down the road a local upholstery guy could make a parchment cover for me.

Re: WTB: Tonneau cover snap type for LWB
That's what I had figured on before I saw Carter "offered" them in colors and started using those. I used to have the old school ones made before frame-type came out. I am sure it would be easier for a trim shop to make one off an existing frame.
