looking for headers for 64 chevy c10
The chevy I have has an engine swap out of a chevy 70-73 I think. Its a 350 and I want to convert it to a 383 stroker. I was wondering if I can buy headers now and they will fit on the engine once its a 383. if not I'll wait, and I was wondering what headers you guys would recommend (short/long) and I was thinking summit racing street & strip types. I'm looking to drag race and street race my truck to let you know the performance I have in mind.

383 is just a 350 with a 400 crank and diffrent pistons its all sbc family 262-400 all same family.
so yes your headers will fit i like long tubes but if your truck is slammed they tend to hit everything.

Too bad you're gonna street race it. You should just buy a crotch rocket motorcycle instead so it will reduce the damage to others when you "ball it up."

Re: looking for headers for 64 chevy c10
As already said, a 383 is still a small block, so you will not need any special headers. What you will need are headers with a large enough primary tube to allow your engine to breathe. Just how big depends on the HP output.
The headers made specifically for the '60-'66 trucks have 1.5" primary tubes, so those won't work so well for a typical 383. I would recommend either Hedman #69090 or Hooker #2452. Those both have 1.625 " primary tubes which should be good fot your build. They will also work with the original clutch bellcrank if you are going with a manual trans. Keep in mind that these headers will not work well with 'slammed' trucks.
