fuel pressure regulater, instead of Corvette fuel filter ??
Hy all
one more question about the fuel filter setup ... :-) Actually i am thinking about using a fuel filter regulator like this one here instead of the C5 Corvette filter... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-ADJUSTAB...a4ca07&vxp=mtr I want to use that kind of regulator because i am gonna installing a turbocharger in a few month.. I guess i need more than 60 psi with a turbo setup, so i cannot use the original corvette filter anymore... So pls let me know if this setup (parts) could work ?? :-) fuel pump --> adjustable fuel pressure regulator --> fuel filter --> engine I just dont know how it goes with the return line... the engine is of a 99 Camaro Z28...so there is not return line / connection at the intake manifold. Can i just plump a T-Divider between fuel pump and fuel regulator ??? sorry again for my english Thanks Achim |

ACII running a turbo does not require an increase in fuel pressure. What you need is sustained volume.
I would convert to a return system at this point. Plumbing is easy with an aftermarket regulator.

ACII, a return system is like the schematic below. That's how I run all my LS swaps, since the injector flow-rate remains constant, and it makes tuning a little easier.

Re: fuel pressure regulater, instead of Corvette fuel filter ??
If you were trying to use the Vette regulator I am assuming your motor is setup as a return-less fuel system. Return-less systems have only one line on the intake manifold and fuel pressure is typically regulated at the tank, or at the filter in the Vettes case.
The questions is what is your horsepower goal and budget for the fuel system? With higher horsepower applications you have much more control over the fuel pressure and eliminate surging caused by a return-less system. Return systems also handle big fuel demand swings much better. The biggest down side to the swap is the cost because you will need new rails, a fuel pressure regulator, filter, and an added line back to the tank.

Re: fuel pressure regulater, instead of Corvette fuel filter ??
My goal is around 500 to 550 horsepower at the crankshaft
So i will definitly go like the diagramm of "wasted income" The fuel pump / regulator / filter i can easily buy here in Germany.. but for the fuel rails i have probably to order some of the states... Or can i use some of the older vette models or LT1 engine ?? Thanks Achim |

Re: fuel pressure regulater, instead of Corvette fuel filter ??
Lol nicht sein, ich arbeite für eine Firma Deutsch! I bin Amerikaner aber sprachen ein bisschen Deutsch.
Meine schriftliche Deutsch is nicht so gut! If you ever need anything brought over, I travel to Germany a few times a year so let me know. I am usually in WOB which is a little ways away but I am sure we can figure something out. As for the fuel rails on the car intake I am pretty sure you have to go aftermarket unless someone here knows of a car intake with a return line,I don't.

Re: fuel pressure regulater, instead of Corvette fuel filter ??
Hy all....
does anybody know these parts ? http://fasster.com/LS1-LS6-high-flow...-6BLKrails.htm What do u think about the quality ? @ wasted income Could i plumb the regulator directly between the two rails.....i do have fuel regulator with two inlet ports....and a return port at the bottom of the regulator, so the setup would look like a T-Block Or do i definitly need the return Y-Block for a better flow ? Thanks Achim |
