Anything fit on this 66??
I've got a pretty much stock 66 truck and a bone stock 76. Both 4x2's Will any of the parts off the 76 fit on the 66? Such as the disk brakes or the rear-end and/or axles? If the brake stuff will fit, what all needs to be swapped??
If not, what later model truck should I look for for donor parts? |

Yes, all the disc brake stuff will work. If you wanted to, you could change the complete front crossmember, just be sure to change the 66 tie rod ends to 73 & up. For the rear end, I think the easiest thing to do is to get new cradles for a 66 and weld them to the 76 rear end along with the panhard stuff too.

you can un bolt the crossmember from the 76 and bolt it into your 66.all the holes will line up except 4.simply slot them.you will need the steering linkage off the 76 too.it bolts on except you will have to drill holes for the idler arm.measure the 76 frame for hole location.you can use the power steering with a adapter kit from rez.the front seat is easy to adapt to your truck.some of the holes line up.to use your 76 rearend get a mounting kit from www.earlyclassic.com .the place you should go for answers is www.chevytalk.com . thats where i learned.

Is your '66 truck a Chevy or GMC? If it is a GMC the rear axle from the '77 would be a bolt in deal and match the 5 lug pattern for when you swap on the disc brake parts. If you have a chevy then you need new mounts for the trailing arms (or cut the old ones off your old axle and reweld them on the new axle).
Many other items like motor, tranny can be used. Even possible to use the steering column and/or steering wheel.

It's a chevy. I know most of the obvious things like motor/tranny etc etc. I was just curious about the chassis stuff basically. From the sounds of it, it will work with little modification to the 66.
