Radiators......again..

HAHA....I know this has been covered 10000000X, because I've spent the last 3 days reading all the posts. But, I had a few questions:

I am going to need a radiator for my LS conversion. I have no desire to tap the waterpump....so I am just going to get the appropriate radiator with the steam port.

I also know you get what you pay for....and I can't pay $1100 like some of the companies are asking.

I saw that a few years ago all of the posts were purchasing Entrophy Rad's before he moved from ebay to a web based business and increased his prices. I also see several people recommending RnD (aka Spanky) who I have already sent a PM to.

So here are my questions:
1) What size did you guys go with? The current radiator in my 66 was 31" wide overall, 19" high overall and had a 26" core. This is not the original factory size, but fits nicely. The 63-66 radiator that most places carry is 23"H and 25"W. I personally do not like the look of the radiator sticking 4" above the core support. I'm also not scared to fab some mounting brackets. Are there any other year vehicles that offer something a little lower profile?

2) Did you get/use the extra fan relay setup? I have not sent my PCM harness in yet, but usually when you do it includes a fuse/relay panel that controls 2 fans. What have you used?

3) When you wire up the fans are you wiring both to come on/off at a certain temp or 1 for temp and the other for AC usage? (I've seen both posted)

4) What hose combo's are you using...or are you just cutting hoses to get the bends you need?

Lastly.....the purchase you made, were you happy with it? Would you buy one from that place again?

Re: Radiators......again..

I can't answer all of your questions but I can offer some suggestions/ideas. I am running a 4 core cross flow that I got at O'Reilly's for $200.00, it's for a 66 Buick GS. I would think a local radiator shop could add a steam port pretty cheap. I used the upper and lower supports for a 72 to support/mount in my truck. We spaced the lower brackets up to place the radiator flush with the top of the core support, its been there for over 7 years with no issues. I just ordered a shroud from Coolcraft for $110.00, it turned out nice. add the fan of your choice and you're cool. Pun intended. I'm using a Hayden fan controller with adjustable turn on temp points. I need to go outside and do the final wiring add coolant and mine will be finished.

This is basically the radiator I used
