Anybody using an electric fuel pump on a 250 or 292?
Hey guys! I'm considering using external electric pump on my warmed over 292, lumps, cam, etc. Was wondering if anyone one has a recommendation of what pump to use.

I was running an electric fuel pump when i had the 292 in my truck. Ran great, make sure your fuel pressure is around 5psi. I am now running a 8.1 vortec in my truck using a bosch fuel pump at around 50psi.

Just things to consider if changing when not necessary, like when I had to install an electric pump on my '66 due to engine having no provision for a mechanical. That warmed over 292 really sounds like a bunch of fun. Properly built and with right combo of mods really make them sound AND perform great. No other sound comes close to a "split manifold" on a 6-banger; so sweet! sam |

Pending on the carb....use an electric pump with no more then 8 psi. I'm running one on my mild 292 and it runs great...quicker start ups....easier on the battery. Most of the time a mechanical fuel pump will go out before an electric one will.....especially if the pump is placed as near to the tank as possible. I have my electric pump right under the tank...so most of the time its pushing rather then pulling....which makes them last a whole lot longer.
