Need some opinions please.

Been working on my dually for awhile and Im in the middle of a 1990 model core support swap. Instead of adapting my old relay harness to the new lights I decided just to build one myself. So this is what I have so far. Im waiting on some wiring parts to finish it up but this is what I have so far. The Big read battery junction block is just temporary till i get some extra cash for a second battery but figured since im already rewiring it I might as well run the Wiring for it.

So here is my delima. This is my relay setup thus far. I cant decide if I like it. I like a traditional stock Look and this is far from it. Now that being said I realize that this whole relay harness is not a stock setup but I would at least like it to be close. So any ideas on this or should I just paint the piece of metal so it dont stand out so bad and finish up the wiring? Suggestions and pics are more than welcome.

I would just paint it black like the core support, that will make it almost disappear.

I plan on doing that at the very least. LOL.. I was also toying with the Idea of moving them up under the Lip of the top of the core support on the side of the radiator support Pillar. Maybe run all the wiring behing them so Its not as Visible??

Well here is the revised edition. Not finished yet but its getting there. Still waiting on a couple wiring parts and I ran out of loom so gotta get some of that too. I think this looks cleaner.

Well shes working. Not an awesome feet in itself but I like it. And in case anyone ever reads this and is curious. You can run a diode across the signal legs of your relay wires to have high beam lights while keeping your low beams on as well.

Re: Need some opinions please.

Well for reference purposes and in case anyone is doing this front end swap and is wondering about the lights. I built my own relay harness and added this diode between the signal legs of the relay's and I am able to get High's and lows at the same time when switched to high beams. If you dont care about that then you dont have to have the diode. I didnt attach permanently cause i wanted to make sure it was going to work and last. This way if the diode quits for some reason its easily swappable.

Re: Need some opinions please.

You should be using a 20A diode for headlights. I can't see the part number, but that looks like maybe a 2 amp. You are risking a fire there.

Re: Need some opinions please.

Its a 50 volt 3 amp. Its not on the load side of the relay just the signal side so no real amperage going through it.

Re: Need some opinions please.

Ah. You're good then. Important to point out to others doing the same thing, though: the diode goes on the signal side of the relay!

On a side note, where did you get that junction box? It looks perfect for my diesel if I add the snow plow....

Re: Need some opinions please.

I like your first setup, looks simple and easy to maintain.

I though it would be cool to just get rid of the light switch, and put a toggle switch.

I would have one for fans, head lights, dome light, and aux lights...

Nothing like flipping a toggle switch to engage something or other

Looks good tho...

Thanks!! The first setup wasnt wired up all the way yet and would have had all the other wires eventually but it just didnt look right to me so that was the reason for the move.
