New shop truck! 79 C30
Howdy Partners.
It's been awhile since I've posted anything but ive been lurking in the shadows. Anyway I've recently been putting my nose in the dirt with trying to get my shop opened up and not just doing fly-by-night work on the local's cars and peoples long term hotrod projects. My shop has been overrun with things that need to be brought in on a trailer and I've lost all access to the tow truck I used to use due to the company being sold. So what to do when you need something to pull a trailer and your shop is picking up business? Buy a shop truck! Up until this ride I had been using my 52 GMC and it had been taking it's toll on my ol' girl, and it didn't help that I didn't want anyone but me driving it. So I set out to find a 73-80 single cab dually, and that I did at a local swap meet. With that, I present to you, my 1979 C30 Silverado! Power windows, power locks, A/C, cruise, tilt wheel, big block, TH400, front discs, front and rear sway bars, 4.10 gears, intermittent wipers, dual gas tanks, cargo light, tinted glass, and 79k original miles. The truck has been taken extremely good care of, and quite frankly had a lot more options than I was even looking for. Made a deal with the guy (ended up being a super nice guy, he choked up when i drove away with it) and I could not have been happier. I've already had offers over 2x what I paid for it. Plans include 3 inch drop spindles up front, 4 inch drop springs in the rear, (fresh) tint, and possibly 20" Alcoa's. On the trip home, Sept. 16th, it rolled over 80k and is about to roll over 82k. I drove it 1600 miles to pick up a 41 GMC clip down in Tennessee, then 600 miles to Hershey to drop off a 1969 Triumph Trident and pick up a 1976 Norton 850 Commando. She is a champ, and an AWESOME road trip truck. Anyway, here's the pictures.

That's a nice truck! Hello from another Pittsburgh member. My 83 was in terrible shape when I got it compared to yours.

I think I saw that truck at the Canfield swap meet... Super clean truck. I'm obsessed with the round headlight dually's!
