71 GMC Camper
Not mine, but have a chance to buy it. Owner states 40K original miles. Soooo, so tempting. Needs a bunch of work, and I got hands full with the '71 Chevy PU.
Regardless, I wanted to share...enjoy! -Ed |

Re: 71 GMC Camper
If you want it, get it.
To me, and don't take it personal, but it looks like a camper tried to eat a truck and bit off more than it could chew. |

Re: 71 GMC Camper
That thing is really cool.
If you can get it for a good low price, I'd for it....neat multi-use vehicle and waaaayyy cooler and interesting than the modern, generic 'vanilla wagon' RV's (as my wife calls them...LOL) Coley

Re: 71 GMC Camper
That's awesome. I'd buy it, cover it in beige shag carpet, and try to sell it to the producers of Dumb & Dumber for the next sequel.
Not that the truck is dumb, but it's odd enough... so odd it's cool.

Re: 71 GMC Camper
Those Cowl/Chassis campers are way cool. That one looks to be in great shape. No rust in rockers or cab corners anyway

Re: 71 GMC Camper
I passed on buying this beast. While he was offering a good deal, in my opinion, (my '84 GMC conversion van with 80K miles, plus $800), my spidey-sense was tingling.

Re: 71 GMC Camper
I love that thing, I would have no use for it but the weirdness is cool in my book.

Re: 71 GMC Camper
I came across the seller and camper in a McDonald's parking lot in Western Racine County. He said he had traded a car for the camper the previous week and was "headed south" from somewhere "up north". He also said he had gotten so much interest while on the road that he was thinking of selling it. His cell phone number had a 715 area code, so I suppose he could've gotten it in Eau Claire. Small world.

Re: 71 GMC Camper
What does the dash look like in one of those? Is is the same as a regular pickup, or something manufactured by the camper builders? Way cool.
