Stand alone Emergency Flasher wiring
guys, I've read all about finding a flarestat kit, and while I would buy one if I had the money to do so, I figured the next best thing is to wire a flasher in on it's own.
The trouble is, that I'm having trouble finding a simple diagram that shows what wires to tap into, or rather how to set up the whole thing. Has anyone done a standalone flasher wiring system? I'm not looking for originality here, I just need to find a way to wire this with a simple toggle switch. any help is appreciated! Will have a write up with pictures for a sticky if I can get this done!

Re: Stand alone Emergency Flasher wiring
I think the issue is it can't be done with a simple toggle switch. If it was that easy it would be all over the net. I spent the money and got a signal stat one for my truck.

Re: Stand alone Emergency Flasher wiring
So that raises the question of whats so special about the flarestat system?
I realize it would still require an emergency flasher and other wiring to the lights themselves. What I don't understand is how to wire the flasher properly. Just what exactly is in the system that I couldnt make myself?

Re: Stand alone Emergency Flasher wiring
This might help. If not PM me if interested in a factory one. The last one is the diagram in painless wiring harness kits and uses the same gm colors.

Re: Stand alone Emergency Flasher wiring
I knew there was a simple way to add emergency flashers, I'm just not real good with electrical. I did a couple google searches and came up with this.
http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/simp...her-81803.html Pretty simple and straight forward
